Perl markup extension

I've noticed <perl></perl> markup used on some pages (I can't recall a specific example at the moment). Is this an extension? Where did it come from?--Stewarta 14:10, 6 September 2006 (EDT)

rss extension?

The <rss> extension which appears to be in use on this site is pretty nifty, but I see no mention of it on this page. Just curious as to what it is, if anyone knows. --Andrew Stewart 15:07, 15 December 2006 (EST).

The Special:Version page has links for some of the installed extension including the RSS one.
