Dr Mark Wilkinson is the Issac Peral Distinguished Researcher in Biological Informatics at the Center for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics, Madrid, and Adjunct Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia. [1]

His primary research interests relate to reproducibility in science, and academic publishing. He approaches these by applying semantic web technologies to the tasks of data and knowledge representation, with the goal of enabling machines to capture "what was done", automatically do it again under different circumstances, and comprehensively publish the results. The result should be a complete, machine-readable, and reproducible record of the experiment - from hypothesis to conclusion.
