HOWTO Discussion:Feature-Annotation

Old document metadata
- Dan, we all know the wiki retains the history of the edits, but it doesn't always account for the original author(s) of a particular document. This is particularly true in cases where the origins of the document aren't from the wiki (i.e. from older websites, botted POD->wiki conversion from files, etc). With that in mind, please leave the authors names intact.--Chris Fields 18:25, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- The HOWTOs are a little bit special on the wiki. See HOWTOs#Copyright notice. From that, one can see that they are treated as something like publications, by mutual consent of the governed. These documents usually represent sustained effort by a single individual, and are honored as such by the community. --maj 03:48, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
